About

Tim and Bev Rehm first became interested in live acoustic music on one of their first dates. All it took was one visit to a longtime Nebraska venue, the Listening Room in Hastings, and they were hooked. Soon they were seeking out other listening room venues such as the Bieroc Café in McCook. Matter of fact, their wedding date was determined by a January appearance of Nashville singer/songwriter Jeff Black. When they heard that Black was playing nearby, Tim and Bev decided on a small Friday afternoon wedding, a limo ride to the Bieroc in McCook, and a very special night with family and friends enjoying live acoustic music. To this day, Tim and Bev still think it was the perfect wedding. At some point in the months to follow they thought “why can’t we host a house concert?” And, as is said “the rest is history”!

The first show was hosted in a reception hall in downtown Holdrege called the Gathering Place. Most of those first guests were friends who had their arms twisted just a bit to take a chance on this crazy idea. With borrowed sound equipment and the stage lighted with a floor lamp from the their home, Rehmsworld House Concerts, now known as the Rehmsworld Concert Series, was born.

After the success of that first show, it became necessary to seek a larger location, and what followed continues to be a wonderful partnership with Jim and Julie Nelson and the Balcony in Loomis, NE. The Balcony is a private reception hall located at 10775 Clifton St. / E. HWY 23 on the east edge of town, it has played host to many social gatherings over the years. We find it to be the perfect place for our shows as it is an intimate, smoke free environment, with a cash bar; very conducive to acoustic performance.

Since then the Rehmsworld Concert Series has hosted over sixty-five nationally touring artists including Barnaby Bright, Sally Barris, Jeff Black, LJ Booth, Brad Coleric, Dana & Susan Robinson, Krista Detor, Mark Errelli, The Ginn Sisters, Girlyman, Caleb Hawley, Robby Hecht, Don Henry, Kelley Hunt, Paul Jacobson, Tom Kimmel, Celeste` Krenz, Arthur Lee Land, Zoey Lewis, Peter Mayer, Chuck Pyle, Justin Roth, Sara Sample, Steve Seskin, The Sherpas. Amy Speace, John Smith, Spring Creek, The Steel Wheels, Sweet Talk Radio, Ryan Tanner, Greg Trooper, The Waymores, Christopher Williams, Beth Wood.
